Our Process
New projects and renovations can be a stressful and invasive process. That is why the Village has an entire process. From beginning to end we will be there to support and guide you through the project, minimizing any potential headaches.
We begin by crafting a story of emphasis, often inspired by timeless designs and designers, master woodworkers and design principles that may emphasize your own unique experiences. We will also establish an intended investment for your masterpiece.
This process is done with as little or as much guidance as you desire.
A site visit, as well as a free moodboard are included in this step!
With your budget and mood in mind, a model of your design is crafted in vector space using CAD (Computer Assisted Design) software! Here intentional decisions can be made on proportions, joinery, and structural integrity. This step helps you visualize some of those less apparent features.
A 3D printed prototype for furniture allows you to visualize your project. A quote will then be created for the project.
Once you are ready to proceed with your project, we provide a copy of our standard contract for your review. A 10% deposit will book the project and then we ask for an initial payment when the work begins typically ~50% of the estimated job cost.
After approval of the model and quote, premium materials such as granite, or high-quality domestic woods, and all other required parts are acquired for the project to ensure effective results.
In Innovation Studio's 16,000 sqft makerspace that you are welcome to tour anytime, the Village takes knowledge of woodworking and meshes it with the use of industrial tools.
This step has a variable timeline depending on the scope of your project, expect clear communication.
After the work is complete, delivery from the studio will take place and this is the part where you get to enjoy your new investment!
We realize that our building project is still your home or workspace, and we make every effort possible to work around your family, staff, and schedule. Our team shows courtesy when working onsite, partitions workspace where necessary, and generally makes the building process as unobtrusive on your lifestyle as possible.
An optional add-on includes an in-detail project kit detailing materials used, project inspirations and any other valuables that will no doubt be useful for telling the story of your project and help with future projects and branding.
